Year 9 and 10 Coordinator’s Message

Dear Staff and Students,

After the challenges faced by our students over the last year, it has been so pleasing to be back at school. While Sirius College was well-placed to provide online learning there is no doubt that everyone is happy that our normal classes have recommenced. While the recent lockdown provided some challenges, it was good to see that students were still able to focus on their education.

This year we originally planned to have some exciting programs called Man Cave and Success Integrated that were to be held during the first term. However due to COVID 19 it was decided that we could not run them. We still have intentions of running these sessions, in either term 2 or 3. These programs are important as they provide a balance in terms of considering the wellbeing of students and strategies on improving their study techniques.

This year we also have planned a year 9 Camp. More information will be provided about this at a later time. We are hopeful that the COVID-19 situation will improve and that the camp will go ahead. It is important to run excursions and camps where it is safe and possible as these have positive benefits for our students. We look forward to the rest of the year and will work to overcome the challenges that are likely to be ahead.

Regards
Mr. Hofis Ouaida
Year 9 and 10 Coordinator
